SURVEY? YES OR NO It is surprising how many people still commit themselves to the most important financial investment of their lives without obtaining an independant survey.
They may take out a mortgage and rely on the mortgage companies valuer to tell them of the defects in a property but in many cases, this may not be sufficient to allow a purchaser to make a fully informed decision as to whether to proceed at the agreed price in view of any discovered defects or indeed if they should proceed at all. They may be fortunate enough to be paying outright cash for a property and will not even be given the limited advice found in a copy of a mortgage valuation.
The cost of an independant report should be assessed in relation to the price paid for the property and in the longer term such a report could save a buyer thousands of pounds.
Purchasers should consider carefully the advantages of obtaining such a report before proceeding as after entering into a legal commitment to purchase it is too late! My overheads are low and VAT free fees should allow you to obtain your own completely INDEPENDENT report.
